Best Thai food in the neighborhood. Much better than Bangkok Degree including the service. Nice relaxing place
We were initially going to La Villa a few blocks up, but it was the 4th of July and it was closed. My friend (who loves Thai food) noticed Mee on our way to La Villa. We took a chance (of course we checked reviews on Yelp first!); we were pleasantly surprised! The service was great and the food was fantastic. I would definitely go back.
Fifth Avenue in Park Slope is filled with small, independent restaurants, many ethnic. Walking a few blocks, we zeroed in on Mee Thai. If you find yourself in Brooklyn with a hankering for Thai cuisine, check this restaurant out. I was quite pleased with dinner, and I'm reasonably discerning. We shared pad see ew with pork, and green curry with chicken, both of which I'd get again. Portions were generous -- enough brought back for my lunch tomorrow. The gal who tended to us was very sweet, even offering to charge T's phone which was pretty run down. Speaking of phones, stupidly I forgot mine in the hotel which was annoying on two counts: the food at Mee Thai was artfully presented. Rice was pyramid-shaped, and some carrots were shaped into hearts. ALSO I had just come from a very cool event at a feminist bookstore, with graphics I wanted to post on Facebook. Oh well.
Absolutely delicious pad thai, wonderful service and friendliness, and very spacious and clean. This was my first meal ever in NYC tonight, and it did not disappoint!
The thai food here is very tasty and generous portions! I'd recommend going for lunch and taking advantage of the lunch specials. I enjoyed the pad Thai and if you like spicy foods, the drunken noodles
I was craving some Thai spices and food and found this place. The first thing I noticed is a B rating from the inspection. Secondly, they do not serve anything besides beer or allow you to bring your own. The service was ok; the girl did not have a lot of interest in use. The menu looked promising, but once we ordered, the food flavors were underwhelming. I wished they got more favor in soups, and it felt like the soup was diluted rather than having that umami flavor that I expect from Thia cuisine. The place is just ok, nothing special.
I'm always in search of a good Thai restaurant especially ones that offer great lunch specials. I was running errands around Bergen ( BKLYN Larder cheese replenishment, etc) and Yelped nearby Thai and *Mee Thai popped up. After a 10 minute walk from Larder, I entered and was the first and only customer on this frigid day. It was great having a peaceful and solitary moment, had a busy Friday and Saturday. Mee Thai's environment is very cozy and the staff warm and welcoming. There were numerous lunch specials to choose from but I ordered my usual Thai iced tea, and Lunch Special with Thai Salad and Pad Se Ew with chicken. The food came out together which I really don't prefer but I guess I should have specified. The tea was perfectly sweetened and very refreshing. The salad was fresh with delicious tofu and a kickin peanut dressing. The Pad Se Ew was also perfectly spiced, piping hot and the chicken was plentiful. The server was very sweet and accommodating. We talked about the weather, and other small talk. I told her how much I enjoyed my meal and am in this neighborhood quite often. *ahhh.. you've noticed my asterisk. I've learned Mee means noodles in Thai. Well I'm just wild about the noodles served at Mee Thai. Chan ca klab ma! ( I'll be back in Thai) :)
Walking in on a Saturday afternoon, i must admit I was a little hesitant about eating here after realizing we were the only people in the restaurant. Was the place not good? Had we made a mistake picking this? No - yelp had good reviews and yelp wouldn't let me down. "Stick to your guns" i told myself... and I'm glad I did! The server was prompt in getting us our order, though I must admit I asked if the curry was spicy and she said no... this in fact was a lie :(. To eat we had: Green curry with chicken: was i blown away? No. But this bowl of curry warmed my soul on a crisp spring day and left me oh so satisfied. But next time, be honest about it being a lil spicy. Pad see ew with tofu: I found the noodles a little chewy and the green veggie to be quite bitter. The flavor profile was good though
